Japanese pianist Tomoko Iimura is gaining renown as an experienced and gifted accompanist and chamber musician. Born in central Japan in 1980 to a family
of traditional booksellers, Iimura began studying piano at the age of 5. In 2000,
she was admitted to the Showa University of Music in Japan, where she studied
under Professor Junichi Mutou, and graduated in 2004. She then moved to Hungary
to attend the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music and study with Professor Gyorgy Nador,
completing a degree in piano performance there in 2006. She continued her studies
in Switzerland with Professor Sylviane Deferne at the Neuchâtel and Geneva Conservatories
of Music, where she received a concert diploma in 2009.
Iimura has been an official accompanist to master classes with violist Nobuko
Imai and at the Casals Festival in Prades, France and Sion master class in Suisse.
She has given several solo and chamber music concerts in Hungary, Switzerland,
Japan and Italy, with Nobuko Imai (viola), Veit Hertenstein (viola), Janos Horváth
(violin) , Tamas Rozsos (viola) and Istvan Rozsos (opera singer - tenor). She
has attended master classes with Gyorgy Nador, Valentin Gheorghiu, Itamal Golan
and Pascal Rogé.
More recently, Tomoko Iimura works in Furat Qaddouri Music Center as piano
teacher and spread western music in UAE.
