Peijun Xu, born in Shanghai, China, was the second prize winner at the 2006 Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition, where she also received the Arthur Rubinstein Memorial prize. She also won third prize at the 2007 European Competition for Chamber Music Karlsruhe. Dedicated to contemporary music, she is engaged at the Hindemith Institute as well as the Frankfurter Institut für Zeitgenössische Musik. She has received scholarships from the Shanghai Conservatory and the Tang Education Foundation and was ranked third in the "Viola Solo" competition of the Central Conservatory and in the Competition for Extraordinary Young Musicians of the People's Republic of China. Ms. Xu currently attends the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main in Germany and studies with Roland Glassl.
