Hailed for his 'rich, freely sweeping expression' and 'keen sense of storytelling' by The Strad magazine, Korean-American violist David Kim won first prize at the 2006 Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and made his UK recital debut at Wigmore Hall. He has been a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS 2) in New York and has collaborated with artists such as Midori, Gary Hoffman, and members of the Emerson and Guarneri String Quartets. Mr. Kim attended the Geneva and New England Conservatories as well as the Juilliard School and his teachers include Nobuko Imai, Kim Kashkashian, Carol Rodland, and Samuel Rhodes.
